The death toll in floods that occurred after heavy rains on Friday has reached 46, and 20 girls are still missing, according to American media CNN.
The dead include 18 teenagers and girls and 28 adults.
The missing girls were at Camp Mystic for a summer camp.
Camp Mystic is one of the oldest and most prestigious girls’ camps in Texas. Hundreds of girls participate here every year. They are taught various subjects including self-reliance, leadership development.
About 700 girls participated in Camp Mystic this week.
Camp Mystic is located on the banks of the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, Texas. It is estimated that many girls were swept away when the river overflowed and flooded on Friday.
Although some have been rescued, the search for the 20 missing girls has been intensified.
The floods have damaged many homes. Major roads and bridges have also been damaged by the floods. (RSS)
