Prime Minister Oli stresses on reforming the international financial system
Seville (Spain). Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, while addressing the plenary closing session of the Civil Society Forum as the chief guest, has emphasized on reforming the international financial system.
Prime Minister Oli, who is on an official visit to Spain to participate in the United Nations’ Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, has emphasized that developing countries must fulfill their commitments for financial investment.
He said that civil society should continue to raise its voice on the unfinished agenda for development cooperation, debt sustainability, and international financial system reform.
Stating that civil society advocacy will provide strength for the people, the earth, and common responsibilities, he called for taking the lead in building an equitable and sustainable future without leaving anyone behind.
At the event, which was also attended by Spanish Vice President Calvo Poyato, Prime Minister Oli said that everyone should fulfill their shared responsibility to mobilize private sector capital to create good jobs and promote inclusive growth, and to find resources for development.
The declaration passed by the civil society session will be adopted by the ‘Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development’. (RSS)
