Nawalparasi East. One person died and another was injured when a truck hit a motorcycle on the Narayani River bridge in Nawalparasi East.

The accident occurred on Sunday evening when a truck carrying chicken chicks from Avinash Hatchery, heading towards Narayanghat, hit a motorcycle with the number Na 1 Ka 5199, which was heading towards the same direction from Gaindakot.

According to the police, the motorcycle driver, Munal Dahal, 23, of Gaindakot-4, died in the truck collision, the police said.

Dahal, who was seriously injured in the accident, was declared dead by the doctors when he was taken to Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur for treatment.

The accident occurred when the truck was overtaking the motorcycle, said Madhu Nepal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office.

Prateek Ghimire of Gaindakot-4, who was riding behind the motorcycle, was injured in the accident. He is undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur.

The truck driver, Tukta Bahadur Ale, 35, of Golanjor Rural Municipality-9, Sindhuli, and the truck have been taken into custody by the police and further investigation is underway. (RSS)
