Darchula. The Mahakali Highway has been blocked again due to a landslide. The highway was blocked due to a landslide in the Terchhalek Ranebash area of the Khalanga-Gokuleshwor road section of Darchula, the district headquarters. A Bolero jeep was also damaged in the landslide.

A jeep (Shuspra 001 Ja 1184) heading from the district headquarters Khalanga to Gokuleshwor was caught in the landslide.

Police Inspector Chhatra Bahadur Rawat of the District Police Office informed that the front part of the jeep was completely buried after the landslide. According to him, there was no human casualty in the jeep that was buried in the landslide.

Rawat said that it was difficult to remove the jeep as the falling of rocks and soil did not stop along with the rain. The equipment of the Road Department is close to the landslide. As the rain did not stop, buses coming from Kathmandu and Mahendanagar have been stopped in Panevaz.

Even vehicles coming from the district headquarters, Khalanga, have been stopped on the road. The road in that area is currently blocked from time to time. Due to this, passengers have been forced to suffer. (RSS)
