Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the monsoon winds are currently affecting the country. In addition, the low pressure line of monsoon is located north of the average location in western and central Nepal and around the average location in the east.

According to the division, it is currently partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country including Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces, while it is partly cloudy in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain is occurring in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

It is generally cloudy across the country today afternoon, with a possibility of rain. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with lightning in many places in the hilly areas including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces and in some places in the rest of the country. Similarly, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in some places in the hilly areas including Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Similarly, it will remain generally cloudy across the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with lightning at many places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and at some places in the remaining provinces.

There is also a possibility of heavy rain at a few places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with snowfall at some places in the high hills and mountainous areas.
