Kathmandu. According to meteorologists, there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Koshi and Gandaki today.

The weather forecast division has stated that light to moderate rain is occurring in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces.

It will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces and in a few places in the rest of the provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snowfall in a few places in the high-hilly and mountainous areas of the country.

According to the division, it will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder/lightning in many places in Koshi Province, Madhesh Province and some places in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and a few places in the remaining areas.

There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in Koshi and Gandaki Provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall/snowfall in a few places in the high-hilly and mountainous areas of the country.

Due to the potential rainfall, there is a risk of soil erosion, floods, landslides and flash floods, which is why there is a risk of inundation in urban and Terai areas, water levels in large and small rivers and streams may rise, daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, construction work around the river areas, road and air transport may also be affected, and windstorms may also have a partial impact. Therefore, the Forecasting Division has urged the general public and all stakeholders to adopt necessary vigilance and advance preparations.
