Kathmandu. Currently, monsoon winds are affecting the country and a low-pressure area around Uttar Pradesh, India is also affecting it. The low-pressure line of the monsoon is near the Sardar area, according to the Hydrology and Meteorology Division.
It will be generally cloudy across the country on Thursday afternoon, but there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
According to the division, heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall at some places in the high hills and mountainous parts of the country. There is a possibility of gale force winds at some places in the Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Stating that there is a risk of flooding, landslides and flash floods due to the possible rainfall, the division has requested the general public in the urban and Terai areas to be cautious as there is a risk of inundation. The water level in large and small rivers and streams may rise, affecting daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, roads and air transport around the river areas, so the general public and all concerned bodies have been requested to adopt necessary precautions and prepare.
