Kathmandu. The Hydrology and Meteorology Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently affecting the country and the monsoon low pressure line is around the mean position in the east and slightly north of the mean position in the west. The division has forecast heavy rain at one or two places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali.

This afternoon, it will be partly to generally cloudy across the country and there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly parts including Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the division, there is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in some places in the high hilly and mountainous parts of the country.

Similarly, tonight, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly parts including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and partly cloudy in the rest of the regions. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in some places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of the country.

Stating that there is a risk of floods, landslides and flash floods due to the possible rain, the division has requested the general public in those areas to be careful as there is a risk of inundation in urban and Terai areas.

The general public and all concerned bodies have been requested to be vigilant and prepare as the water level in large and small rivers and streams may rise, daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, roads and air transport around the river areas may be affected.
