Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently affecting the country. In addition, the monsoon low pressure line is located near the mean position.

According to the division, the weather is currently partly to generally cloudy in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, including the hilly areas, while the rest of the region is partly cloudy to mainly clear. Light to moderate rainfall with lightning is occurring at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

It will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with lightning at some places in the hilly areas of all provinces and a few places in the rest of the region. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with snowfall at a few places in the high hills and mountainous areas.

Tonight, it will be partly to generally cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with lightning at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces and a few places in the rest of the provinces. There is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has requested everyone to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of monsoon rain across the country, and there is a risk of erosion, floods, landslides and mudflows.
