Kathmandu. Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, has made it clear that an investigation will be conducted into the alleged manipulation in the Federal Civil Service Bill.

Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed administrative building of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Singh stated that the controversy seen in the bill is serious, and those found guilty after the investigation will face action.

The civil service bill passed by the House of Representatives includes a provision for a “cooling-off period.” However, the inclusion of the word “except” has raised questions regarding the intent and implications of the bill. Amid suspicions of foul play, Singh emphasized the need for a thorough investigation.

He also remarked that it is ironic for those who signed the constitution during its drafting to now oppose it. Furthermore, he stated that the government’s actions are being closely observed by the public and reiterated that their involvement in politics is for public service.

Singh warned that in the coming days, the people will judge leaders who fail to work in the interest of the country and its citizens through elections.
