Kathmandu — The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) continued its protest in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives by surrounding the well of the Parliament. The party has accused the government of not taking their demands seriously and has thus prolonged its protest. Despite the disruption, the session proceeded under the leadership of Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire.
As soon as Speaker Ghimire announced the commencement of the session, lawmakers from both the RSP and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) stood up in protest. In response, the Speaker granted RSP MP Hari Dhakal the opportunity to speak.
MP Dhakal accused the government of being insensitive to the voices of ordinary citizens and declared that their protest would continue. Following his statement, RSP lawmakers moved to the well of the House and demonstrated.
Meanwhile, the RPP chose to boycott today’s session altogether. Speaker Ghimire also informed that there would be no zero hour in today’s meeting.
