Kathmandu. Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has called for investigations and prosecutions to be evidence-based and effective, utilizing technology to assist in the dispensation of justice.
Inaugurating the Third National Conference of Investigating Police Officers and Prosecuting Government Attorneys today, Prime Minister Oli urged that investigations and prosecutions be conducted in a manner that ensures justice is served without ambiguity, based on the facts of the prosecution and evidence.
“To prevent injustice in society and for good social governance, it is essential to create a humane and just society through various studies, research, and investigations, alongside the timely creation and effective implementation of laws. This requires trained, capable, and honest human resources, along with adequate resources. The government is committed to providing these materials and opportunities,” Prime Minister Oli stated. “There must be cleanliness, impartiality, and transparency in the police. The government will pay necessary attention to their services and facilities so they don’t have to worry about insufficient amenities.”
Prime Minister Oli further stated that since criminals use various tactics and technologies to cover up their crimes, the police must be equipped with new technologies and resources to immediately apprehend them. He emphasized that flawless police investigations pave the way for the dispensation of justice.
In the conference, attended by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Attorney General Ramesh Badal, Prime Minister Oli urged focusing on development, good order, and good governance by providing equal rights and opportunities through systemic arrangements, and to work towards punishing the guilty and providing justice to the victims. The conference, currently underway at the Police Headquarters, will conclude on Saturday.
