Kathmandu: Global IME Bank Ltd. has installed an electric vehicle (EV) charging station on the occasion of World Environment Day. The charging station has been set up at the bank’s corporate office in Kamaladi.
On Thursday, during a special program, the charging station was jointly inaugurated by Krishna Prasad Sharma, Director of the bank, Suman Pokharel, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the bank, and Presha Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of Gaadi Charge Pvt. Ltd. The bank, in collaboration with Gaadi Charge Pvt. Ltd., has installed a CC2 single gun charging station with a capacity of 40 kilowatts.
The charging station is made available for customers visiting the bank and bank employees to charge their EV vehicles. With the recent increase in EV users, the bank has launched this charging station to cater to the vehicles of its customers.
During the program, Bank Director Sharma stated that the bank established this charging station as an initiative to promote environment-friendly EV vehicles, keeping in mind the convenience of its customers. He also mentioned that the bank is adopting environment-friendly measures alongside its business expansion.
Bank Deputy Chief Executive Officer Pokharel affirmed Global IME Bank’s commitment to environmental protection and responsible banking. He added that Global IME Bank is planting 18,000 saplings on the occasion of its 18th anniversary and World Environment Day, and is working towards environmental protection and mitigating the effects of climate change by introducing environment-friendly products. He expressed confidence that other banks and financial institutions will also follow Global IME Bank’s lead in operating EV charging stations.
High-ranking officials from the bank and representatives from Gaadi Charge Pvt. Ltd. were present at the event.
