Kathmandu – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, is holding ongoing discussions with the chief whips of major political parties at the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor. The focus of the talks is to resolve the ongoing obstruction in the House.
Speaker Ghimire has urged all parties to cooperate in ending the deadlock in Parliament. However, opposition parties have reiterated their stance that the House proceedings cannot resume until questions related to the visit visa issue are properly addressed.
The opposition has demanded the formation of a committee or commission to conduct an impartial investigation into the visit visa controversy. On the other hand, the ruling party has made it clear that further discussions on any other issues can only proceed after Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak responds in Parliament.
Speaker Ghimire is continuing discussions with the chief whips in an effort to find consensus on this matter.
