Kathmandu – The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), CPN-UML, is celebrating Republic Day today as a special festival.
The UML is observing this day as a special celebration to mark the establishment of the federal democratic republic, which was achieved through seven decades of sacrificial struggle.
Rajendra Gautam, head of the UML Publicity Department, informed that the party will organize a special program at Bhrikutimandap today from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Party members dressed in their traditional attire will join the celebration by participating in cultural rallies from various parts of the Kathmandu Valley, eventually gathering at Bhrikutimandap.
The decision to celebrate Republic Day as a festival was made during the UML Secretariat meeting held on Jestha 11 (May 24). According to Publicity Department Chief Gautam, top leaders of the party will also participate in the program organized at Bhrikutimandap.
