Infrastructure Development is a Top Priority for the Maoist Centre: Chairman Prachanda

Baglung: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ stated that his party has given high priority to infrastructure development. He mentioned that he will draw the attention of the concerned authorities to allocate a budget for the upgrading of the Shaheed Marg (Martyrs’ Road) in Tarakhola Municipality, Baglung.

Speaking at a program organized today by Tarakhola Rural Municipality, he said that efforts would be made to secure government funding to expand and blacktop the road connecting Tarakhola to the national highway. “Efforts were made previously to include Shaheed Marg in the budget, but they did not bear fruit. This time, we will make a special effort,” he said. “This road is important for the commercialization of local products and for tourism as well.”

Despite geographical challenges and limited resources, Tarakhola Rural Municipality has carried out exemplary work in development and service delivery, he noted. In line with the government’s goal of connecting local units to the provincial capital through paved roads, this 20-kilometer road was identified four years ago for blacktopping.

He also remarked that the public awareness campaign focused on the Mid-Hill Pushpalal Highway, launched by the party, has strengthened the Maoist Centre’s connection with the people.
