Mahottari. There has been significant progress in revenue collection in Madhesh. The revenue collection in the last fiscal year 2081/82 was Rs. 5.54 billion 72 lakh 33 thousand. This is the highest in the last seven fiscal years.
Seven years ago, in the fiscal year 2075/76, Rs. 2.66 billion 1.536 million revenue was collected. This is double the amount collected in the last fiscal year 2081/82.
The Ministry of Finance of Madhesh has called this a significant progress. Ram Kumar Mahato, Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of the province, says that this significant achievement was achieved due to strengthening tax administration, expansion of the digital system and increase in internal economic activities. “This is significant progress in revenue collection,” said Secretary Mahato, “It has now caught a good leak.”
Earlier, in the fiscal year 2080/81, the province collected Rs. 3.59 billion 31 million in revenue. The ministry has stated that revenue collection will continue to improve in the current fiscal year and the coming years. Secretary Mahato says that more achievements will be achieved as the collection process is scientifically managed. (RSS)
