More than 2,000 delegates to participate in UML’s statutory general convention

Kathmandu. 2,392 people are set to participate in the second statutory general convention of the Nepal Communist Party (UML) to be held from Bhadra 20 to 22.

According to Rajendra Gautam, head of the UML Publicity and Publication Department, 2,128 delegates and 264 organizers will participate in the general convention.

He said that since only the delegates of the 10th National General Convention held in Chitwan in 2078 BS will be the representatives of the statutory general convention, some central members will also be in the capacity of organizers. He informed that preparations for the general convention are underway at full speed.

Digital cards will be provided to the delegates participating in the general convention. Similarly, there are preparations to mobilize at least 300 volunteers at the general convention venue.

Gautam, head of the Publicity Department, informed that it has been decided to establish a systematic ‘news desk’ to facilitate the dissemination of news to the media.

Similarly, preparations are underway to set up reception gates at various places from Satdobato to Sunrise Hall in Godavari to make the general convention grand, and to arrange public transport from Satdobato to Godavari.

Head of the Publicity Department Gautam said that he has given time till Bhadra 10 to the subordinate committees to give suggestions on the statute. According to him, Prime Minister and Chairman KP Sharma Oli will present a political report, Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Poudel will present a proposal on amending the statute, and General Secretary Shankar Pokhre will present an organizational report at the general convention.
