Kathmandu. The Hydrology and Meteorology Division has stated that the monsoon low pressure area is currently around the Terai of Nepal in the west and a little south of the Terai in the east, so the monsoon will be more active in western Nepal than eastern Nepal in the next 24 hours.

According to the division, it is completely cloudy across the country. Moderate rain is occurring in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces and a few places in the rest of the provinces.

This afternoon, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country including Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and partially cloudy in the rest of the provinces. There is a possibility of moderate rain in some places in the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and a few places in the hilly areas of the country including the Terai and a few places in the rest of the Terai areas of the country including Madhes Province. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly areas and partly cloudy in the rest of the areas. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in some places in the hilly and terai areas of Gandaki Province, including Bagmati, Lumbini and Karnali Provinces, and a few places in the remaining hilly and terai areas including Madhes Province.

The Division has requested to adopt necessary precautions as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Sudurpaschim and Karnali Provinces, causing erosion, floods, landslides and flash floods, as well as the risk of inundation in urban and terai areas.
