Kathmandu. The water flow in the Saptakoshi River has increased. According to Nirmal Kumar Thapa, Superintendent of Armed Police Force Nepal No. 4 Headquarters, the water flow in the Koshi Barrage has reached 2430 cusecs per second as measured at 9:00 pm on Saturday.
28 of the 56 gates of the barrage have now been opened after the flow increased. When the water flow through the Koshi Barrage exceeds 150,000 cusecs per second, a red light is turned on as a sign of danger, and the control room has informed that the red light has been turned on accordingly.
Superintendent of Police Thapa informed that there has been no damage to the eastern embankment so far. The water level has risen due to continuous rain for the past few days. (RSS)
