Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the monsoon low pressure line is located in the Terai of Nepal to the north of the mean position. Similarly, although the monsoon is affecting the country, the effect of water vapor-rich air is seen to be somewhat weak.

According to the division, it is currently generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and partially cloudy in the rest of the country. Moderate rain is occurring in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

It will be generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rain in the hilly and Terai areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and a few places in the remaining hilly areas and in Madhes province and the remaining Terai areas. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, including the Terai of Lumbini Province.

Similarly, it will remain generally cloudy across the country tonight. There is a possibility of moderate rain in some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and a few places in the hilly and Terai areas of the remaining provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

Since it is monsoon time, the division has requested to take necessary precautions by taking the latest weather information.
