Inruwa (Sunsari). Due to continuous rains in the eastern hilly and Terai districts, the flow of water flowing through the Koshi Barrage has been fluctuating since Monday morning.

As of 6 am on Monday, the water flow was 175,685 cusecs per second, while the measurement taken at 8 pm was 175,685 cusecs per second.

As of 10 pm on Monday, the water flow was 179,740 cusecs per second, informed Armed Police Superintendent Nirmal Thapa. Currently, 19 of the 52 main and four canal gates have been opened.

As the water flow exceeds 150,000 cusecs through the Koshi Barrage, a red light has been lit as a danger signal to alert the public. The Koshi Barrage Control Room has stated that the red light has been lit accordingly.

On Bhadra 2, 2065, the Saptakoshi River breached its eastern embankment when it overflowed with 168,000 cusecs of water. (RSS)
