Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently affecting the country. In addition, the low pressure line of the monsoon is located north of the mean position, near the Terai of Nepal.

According to the division, it is currently completely cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places in Koshi, Madhes and Sudurpaschim provinces and in many places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

It will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in many places in all provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the Terai region of Koshi, Madhes, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Similarly, it will remain generally cloudy across the country tonight. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in many places of the remaining Terai region including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and in some places of the remaining hilly region. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places of the Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces including Koshi, Madhesh provinces.

There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places of the hilly region of Bagmati province and as the monsoon is expected to become more active across the country including Madhesh province in the next few days, the division has requested the general public and all concerned bodies to be aware of the latest weather information and adopt caution.
