Kathmandu. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that the effect of monsoon winds is currently weak across the country. The low pressure line of the monsoon is located around the mean position.

Due to which, it is currently generally cloudy in the hilly areas across the country, with the possibility of light to moderate rain with lightning at a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

It will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with lightning at some places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and the rest of the provinces and at a few places in the rest of the provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country including Koshi province and partially cloudy in the rest of the provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with lightning at some places in Koshi Province and a few places in the rest of the provinces. There is a possibility of windstorm at some places in the Terai and Madhes provinces of Koshi Province.

The Division has requested to adopt necessary precautions as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
