Kathmandu. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast that rain will continue in various places across the country today as well.

According to the bulletin issued by the division at 6 am, today: There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some places in the hilly areas of the remaining provinces including Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Karnali Province and a few places in the remaining areas. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Karnali Province. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snowfall in a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of the country. There is also a possibility of windstorm in a few places in the Terai of Lumbini Province and Sudurpaschim Province.

Tonight: There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning at some places in the hilly areas of the country including some places in Koshi Province, Madhes Province and a few places in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of the country.

According to meteorologists, less than 10 mm of rain falling within 24 hours is light rain, 10 to 50 mm of rain falling is moderate rain, 50 to 100 mm of rain falling is heavy rain, 100 to 200 mm of rain falling is very heavy rain and 200 mm of rain falling is extremely heavy rain.

Similarly, rain at one or two places means that there is a possibility of rain in less than 10 percent of the area of any place in the respective province.

If there is a possibility of rain in 10 percent to 30 percent of the area, it is said that there may be rain at a few places.

Similarly, if there is a possibility of rain in 30 percent to 50 percent of the area, it is said that it may rain in some places.

Similarly, if there is a possibility of rain in 50 percent to 80 percent of the area, it is said that it may rain in many places.

If there is a possibility of rain in more than 80 percent of the area, it is said that it may rain in most places.
