Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently affecting the country. Similarly, the monsoon low pressure line is near the mean position.

According to the division, the weather is currently partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas including Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the region is partly to generally clear. Light to moderate rain with lightning is occurring at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

It will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. According to the division, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly areas including Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini and other provinces. There is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is also a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in some places in the high hills and mountainous areas.

Similarly, it will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and some parts of other provinces. There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has requested everyone to adopt necessary precautions as there is a possibility of heavy rain in various parts of the country, leading to the risk of landslides, floods and landslides.
