Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently affecting the country. The low pressure line of the monsoon is located near the mean sea level.

According to the division, it is currently partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is occurring at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

It will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and at a few places in Madhesh province. There is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall at a few places in the high hills and mountainous areas, according to the forecasting division.

Tonight will be generally cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in many places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and some places in the remaining provinces. The Forecasting Division has stated that there is a possibility of very heavy rain in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in many places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and some places in the remaining territories and the Forecasting Division has requested people to adopt high alert as there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

Similarly, the Division has urged people to take necessary precautions as there is a risk of soil erosion, flooding, landslides and flash floods due to the possible rainfall, which is likely to cause flooding in urban and Terai areas, and water levels in large and small rivers and streams may rise.
