Kathmandu : Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has renounced all State benefits except security in capacity of the former Head of the State.
She made such decision to be effective from Wednesday itself. The government had been providing her various facilities ranging from communications to transportation. Bhandari’s secretariat wrote a letter, addressing Secretary at Home Ministry and shared this information.
She had been receiving State facilities in capacity of the former Head of the State after completion of her tenure.
It is worth noting that some days back, Bhandari, at a programme organized in memory of her spouse Madan Bhandari, in the federal capital, had formally announced here entry to politics by renewing her membership of CPN UML.(RSS)
