Genji angry after Om Prakash becomes Home Minister, demands Genji to become its leader

Kathmandu. After Prime Minister Sushila Karki prepared to swear in advocate Om Prakash Aryal as the interim government’s Law and Home Minister, Genji has demonstrated in Baluwatar.

Some youths are adamant that Aryal, who emerged as a facilitator after the success of the movement, should not be given the position of Home Minister and that Genji leader should become the Home Minister.

They are demanding that Genji leader Sudan Gurung should become the Home Minister and send another youth if he does not. Some youths have expressed anger over Gurung’s activities.

The controversy in Genji has flared up after Prime Minister Karki decided on Sunday to appoint Kulman Ghising as Energy, Urban Development and Physical Infrastructure Minister, Om Prakash Aryal as Law and Home Minister, and Rameshwor Khanal as Finance Minister. They, who did not dispute other names, have expressed anger at Aryal.

The oath-taking of all three ministers is scheduled for Monday. Ghising is the former Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority. Aryal is a former legal advisor to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, while Rameshwor Khanal is a former finance secretary.

With this outcry and controversy against Aryal, he has been dragged into controversy without becoming a minister.
