Kathmandu : The Legislation Management Committee of the National Assembly has finalized the provisions regarding mandatory retirement of civil servants in the Civil Service Bill as passed by the House of Representatives.
Today’s meeting of the Committee held in Singha Durbar reached an agreement to manage the provision of mandatory retirement in three phases.
As per the understanding, the employees would get mandatory retirement at the age of 58 in the fiscal year in which this Act is implemented, at the age of 59 in the second year and at the age of 60 from the third year.
There is a legal provision that the bill, passed by the National Assembly and the House of Representatives, would be implemented as an Act after the President authenticates it.(RSS)
