Kathmandu. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that there is no problem in relations between Nepal and his country. In a meeting with Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli after the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Plus summit held in Tianjin, China, Putin discussed the relations between the two countries and said that there is no problem in the relations, the National News Agency (RSS) reported.
Putin recalled that bilateral relations between Nepal and Russia were established from June 5 to July 9, 1956, when it was the then Soviet Union. Putin said that there is no problem in relations between the two countries so far.
Initially, a Nepali delegation including Prime Minister Oli met with Putin. After that, the two leaders had a separate conversation for about half an hour, according to the RSS.
The Telegram account of the Russian world channel RT stated that the talks between Oli and Putin discussed diplomatic relations between the two countries and the future. A video has been released in which Putin said that the diplomatic anniversary will be celebrated next year, as Nepal and Russia established diplomatic relations in 1956.
Earlier, Prime Minister Oli had met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. After the conference, Prime Minister Oli is leaving for Beijing, the capital of China, today, where the Chinese Vice President has arranged a dinner for the Nepali delegation including him. (RSS)
