Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the low pressure line of the monsoon is currently located near the mean position. In addition, there is an influence of water vapor-rich air from the Bay of Bengal.

According to the division, it is currently generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country and partially cloudy in the rest of the country. Light rain is occurring in a few places in Bagmati Province and one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province and Karnali Province.

It will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rain in some places in the hilly areas of the country including Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces and a few places in the Terai areas of other provinces. There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Karnali Provinces. There is also a possibility of gale force winds in the Terai areas of Koshi and Lumbini Provinces, including Madhes.

Similarly, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country including Madhes and Koshi Provinces tonight and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of moderate rain in some places in the hilly areas of the country including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and in one or two places in the rest of the Terai region. The Division has stated that there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province.

The Division has requested to adopt necessary precautions as there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali Provinces, which may affect daily life, health, road and air transport.
