Indian Foreign Secretary to arrive in Nepal today, invite PM to visit

Kathmandu. Indian Foreign Secretary Bikram Mishri is arriving in Nepal today to formally invite Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to visit India.

He is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a press release informing about his visit to Nepal.

The Indian side has proposed that Oli visit India from 31 Bhadra to 1 Ashoja. However, the official date of the visit has not been decided yet.

Foreign Secretary Mishri will meet Prime Minister Oli and hand over a formal invitation letter to visit India on behalf of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Foreign Secretary Mishri is also scheduled to meet the President, Foreign Minister, Foreign Secretary and others. He will return home on Monday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that Mishri is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that during the visit, the two secretaries will hold discussions focusing on various aspects of the Nepal-India partnership, as well as connectivity, development cooperation, and various issues of mutual interest.
