Kathmandu. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Tribhuvan International Airport Office has decided to stop distributing visitor passes at the international terminal building.
The General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, Hansraj Pandey, said that the visitor passes are being stopped due to complaints that people who do not have access to the airport are being asked to pay for them and are not getting them.
He said, ‘As per the decision of the Tribhuvan International Airport Facilitation Committee, the distribution of visitor passes that were being distributed through the International Terminal Duty Office has been stopped since 27th of Shrawan.’
The airport office issued a public notice on Monday stating that an assistance room has been arranged for the elderly, physically challenged passengers, pregnant and minor passengers who need personal assistance to travel from the Tribhuvan International Terminal Building.
In addition, facilitation is being provided with the help of the concerned airline companies for passengers who need special assistance, including wheelchairs, General Manager Pandey informed. It is also requested to follow the same arrangement as the baggage ‘check-in’ number and maximum weight limit are mentioned in the air ticket.
‘As per the decision of the Tribhuvan International Airport Facilitation Committee, the distribution of visitor passes, which were being distributed through the international terminal building, has been stopped with effect from Tuesday,’ the public notice states. (RSS)
