Kathmandu. The Meteorological Department has forecast that the weather will remain cloudy across the country this afternoon and night as well, with rain continuing in various places.

According to the 24-hour bulletin issued by the department at 6 am today, this afternoon: It will be generally cloudy across the country (cloudy skies). There is a possibility of moderate rain at some places in the hilly regions of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Karnali Province and at a few places in the rest of the country. There is also a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi Province and Bagmati Province.

Tonight: It will be generally cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of moderate rain at some places in the hills and Terai of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province, including Madhes Province, and at a few places in the hills and Terai of the rest of the provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in the hilly areas of Kosi and Bagmati provinces and one or two places in Madhes province.

The Meteorological Department has used ‘daytime’ here for the entire day, i.e. the time before 6 pm, and ‘night’ for the entire night, i.e. the time from 6 pm to 6 am the next day.

According to meteorologists, less than 10 millimeters of rain falling within 24 hours is light rain, 10 to 50 millimeters of rain falling is moderate rain, 50 to 100 millimeters of rain falling is heavy rain, 100 to 200 millimeters of rain falling is very heavy rain, and 200 millimeters of rain falling is extremely heavy rain.

Similarly, rain in one or two places means that there is a possibility of rain in less than 10 percent of the area in any place of the respective province.

If there is a possibility of rain in 10 percent to 30 percent of the area, it is said that there may be rain in a few places.

Similarly, if there is a possibility of rain in 30 percent to 50 percent of the area, it is said that it may rain in some places.

Similarly, if there is a possibility of rain in 50 percent to 80 percent of the area, it is said that it may rain in many places.

If there is a possibility of rain in more than 80 percent of the area, it is said that it may rain in most places.
